Often in society our leaders are ‘leaders’ because they have the following: confidence; good looks; strong opinions; good health; financially secure; extroverted etc. There is research to back this opinion and it fits well with survival of the fittest for our species.
However…does this imply that those leaders have ethical beliefs and values? Does it ensure that the decisions they make will be the ‘best’ for the community or ‘best’ for their own desires?
Consensus leadership gets a bad rap a lot of the time however I think it is highly under rated in our society. Our capitalist society may be ‘successful’ but who determines what ‘success’ actually is? These are the questions but what are the answers? All for now…Lorraine
