At the beach this morning I saw a great candidate for this topic. It was the ripples in the sand caused by the movements of the waves. I didn’t bring my camera though!
I thought, “I know. I have a great photo of a sand dune with a unique pattern caused by the wind. I searched my photo albums and couldn’t find it. We are not talking digital here!
BUT, I did find several old photos taken in different parts of Australia over the past few decades.
- This photo was taken at Halls Creek in the Kimberley Region. We flew from Newman in WA for a conference in Katherine in the Northern Territory. The only way to move over such distances 🙂
- People MOVING at the traffic light near Flinders Street Station in central Melbourne, Victoria.
- This photo shows t he bridge over the Murray River. The river divides the two states of Victoria and New South Wales. It is popular for paddle steamers and historically it was the only way of moving from one part of the river to another.
- This young lad was working hard with the shovel. He was part of a labour market project team of young men. A walk-trail was built to the top of Radio Hill in Newman.
- This is a dump trunk that was retired from Mt Whaleback Iron Ore minesite and donated to the Newman Tourist Association. Now that is one BIG way to move around!
- AJ relaxing
- My youngest son on one of my MANY exercise bikes I bought with great enthusiasm over the years. I think this one helped me give up smoking by exercising instead! In Geraldton once again.
- The Indian Pacific train travels across the Nullabor.
- The Fitzroy River in flood at Fitzroy Crossing – that water is moving at a fast pace!
- My youngest son learning the movements in martial arts at home in Geraldton.
I have enjoyed this topic as it led me on a journey to places archived in my memory.
Cheers
Lorraine
This is the sort of photo I had in mind to start with 🙂 I didn’t take this one though.

Lots and lots of movement in this series but I think the sand tracks are an exceptional choice.
