Don’t try this at home…

This photo was taken at Halls Creek in the Kimberley Region. We flew from Newman in WA for a conference in Katherine in the Northern Territory. The only way to move over such distances 🙂

WordPress Prompt is Tell us about something you’ve done that you would advise a friend never to do.

When I look back at my life I realise I have taken a lot of chances. I will share some of them with you 😉

I started going to pubs at 14 years of age when the legal drinking age was  18 years.

I confess to “drink driving” many years ago – I don’t drink at all these days.

I left home at 17 and thought I was very mature at the time.

I got married at 18 years of age and had three children by the time I was 29!

I didn’t complete High School because I was too frightened of failure.

I used to smoke hashish in public – I gave that up a few decades ago 🙂

I left the security of home to move to a remote Indigenous communities – on two occasions.

My husband (at the time) and I were both Shire Councillors on the same Council. Too much work and not enough play!

I got involved in a bitter custody battle between an Indigenous Mum and a crazy State Government policy.

I ran as a candidate for the Greens in a State Election – it seemed like a good idea at the time.

I expected a lot from my career – it took a long time to realise it is only part of my life.

Sometimes I was too trusting of people who weren’t trustworthy.

Sometimes I write introspective blogs about myself!!!

So, there you go! I wouldn’t change anything about my past (mainly because I can’t anyway) as it has made me the person I am today – older and wiser 🙂
