I love trees. In the gallery below there are twenty-nine photos with trees as the main subject. Twenty seven of the scenes are based in Australia. Can you find the two photos that were taken in London? If you can, I will promote your blog on mine with one of your posts :-). Each photo is numbered to make it easier to name the odd ones out.
You may be familiar with this poem called Trees. It was… “written in 1913 by American poet Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918) and included in his collection Trees and Other Poems published the following year. It was first published in Poetry: A Magazine of Verse in August 1913. It is the poem for which Kilmer is most remembered and its familiarity has made it the subject of innumerable parodies and references in popular culture.” (sourced from Wikipedia)
TREES by Joyce Kilmer
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray,
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair
Upon whose blossom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems were made by fools like me
But only God can make a tree.

Well, I love trees too, so I’m just pleased to hear you share that, and to see these nice pictures
Thanks for visiting! Always nice to hear from you π
Perfect choice of poem to accompany your gallery of wonderful and varied trees!
Thanks Ruth π
I didn’t see this until just now, Lorraine . . . talk about being on the same wavelength. I’ll link back to you. π
And I’m guessing 26 & 27 were taken in London.
Hi Nancy
You are definitely correct there! It is a coincidence about the poem, isn’t it π ?
The prize for getting the right answer is that I will re-blog one of your posts. Would you like to choose which one? cheers Lorraine
Seriously? I guessed them right? Now I’m beginning to think that we are REALLy on the same wavelength! π―
If you have one in mind, that’s fine. If not, I think this one is still relevant:
