Weekly Photo Challenge: Rare

My choice for this week’s challenge is an old railway signal 0il lamp in what was a black metal case. It is a single wick 0il burner with rotating blue and red lenses. It was used in the Victorian Railways when Bendigo was known as Sandhurst (see the markings on the lamp).

A poll was taken on April 28, 1891 to determine whether or not to change the name. Click HERE if you would like to read an article from a paper at the time.
