My blog, allaboutwordswa (aawwa) grew out of my desire to use my writing to share some of the lessons I learn in life through the people I meet, the places I’ve been, my life experiences and my reflections.

I write about the search for the meaning of life,  my love of wisdom and philosophy. I love to reflect on eternal questions, including relationships, social issues, politics of the day, religion and spirituality. I welcome your views as well.

I am also a lover of all forms of nature and enjoy taking photos to share on my blog. I am learning to be more creative.

I hope you enjoy what you find here. Please visit often 🙂

The following people have INSPIRED me at different times in my life:

* Marcus Aurelius – Philosopher and Roman Emperor

* M Scott Peck (The Road Less Travelled)

* Martin Seligman (Authentic Happiness)

* Stephen R. Covey (The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People)

* Philosophers – Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Seneca, Epicurus, Epictetus and Schopenhauer. For 2020 I am focusing on learning more about Stoicism.

I currently live with my husband in beautiful Busselton in South Western Australia.

  1. Martin Seligman has been a huge inspiration to me, as well as the philosophers. I’ve only been blogging for a few months, but I’ve found it to be a great way of exploring life questions and sparking discussions.

    • Hi and it’s a pleasure to meet you too! Yes, I love living in WA and have been here for nearly 30 years – originally from Victoria.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog.
      Lorraine 🙂

  5. Lorraine, I love Busselton! We were in WA for a caving conference a few years ago and that was my favourite spot.

Sounds like our journeys are very similar although I’m in NSW. Same, same, but different.

  6. Hey Lorraine,

I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out with something. Recently, you liked my post, “How to Know You’re Enough!” …on my blog, begintobelieve.com.

It really seemed to resonate with a lot of women; I guess we can all relate to the overwhelming-ness of being female in todays’ society.

Well anyway, back to the favor I was asking.

Because this post resonated with so many, I’ve decide to write an ebook entitled “How to Know You’re Enough!” – The Manual- The Female Edition.

It will be a comprehensive, funny and honest list of everything we do, every day, for everyone, more or less!

Would you be interested in making your list of everything you do, every day, for everyone, more or less, to possibly be included in the book? And If I use any “unique” items on your list, I will include your name as a contributor to the book!

Your list can be anything that takes you time, mind and effort!

So if you’re interested and have questions, you can contact me at rdavis4848@gmail.com or you can just send over your list to the same email address along with your full name and email.

And if you know any other wonderful females that might like to be a part of this event, please feel free to pass it along!

I know you have a lot on your list, so I really appreciate you taking the time. Thanks so much for considering it!

  7. It’s always interesting how sometimes you get a nudge in life without expecting to. Today I looked at my bookcase at The 7 habits of highly effective people and thought, hmmm… I never read it, maybe I’ll give it away but I was torn.. Then I log onto here and see that you’re influenced by it. I guess I should have a read of it after all. Thank you for the nudge 🙂
