I found a sweet potato (yam) going to seed and decided to put it in water to grow. These are the results after about 4-5 days. Fascinating to watch it grow!
In the background through the fly screen you can see some lovely kangaroo paw in full flower!
These two foods always play a part at Christmas for me!
Every so often we have a picnic lunch at Meelup Beach near Dunsborough. On Thursday we stopped off at the popular Dunsborough Bakery and bought our lunch . This week we were pleased to find there was hardly anyone at the beach. There were some young bush walkers and a few tradies either working or stopping for a lunch break. It was quite idyllic.
This maggie was very friendly and keen for us to share our lunch with him!
I always thought boiling eggs was easy. Put them in a pot and boil them! But what if someone wants SOFT boiled eggs? I couldn’t crack it! They were always too hard. I remembered that when I was younger I used to have an egg timer to time my eggs. I wonder if they still make them.
Anyway, my husband had a better idea and this is how we do it now …
Broccoli magnified x 250
I found this in my pantry today. It is a purple potato gone to seed. I love the colours and shapes when magnified x 100 times.
