I think most  people today have at least heard of Dale Carnegie. I found a copy of Dale Carnegie’s Golden Book in my office. For more detailed info on The Dale Carnegie Training Institute CLICK HERE. The Golden Book is really a compact (gold in colour) brochure with some of his key writings included. Probably his best known book is How to Win Friends and Influence People. Here are some of the tips included in […]

Journal Blog / online shopping / Small business / Wisdom

I would love to have greater access to photos on the internet but I want to do it legally and ethically – i.e. I don’t want to breach copyright or use someone’s work without their approval. I am open to paying a subscription fee if it provides me with what I want. The photos would be sometimes used in my blog but may also be used in my business and on Facebook. Currently I use […]

Blog 2013 / DP Challenge / food and diets / Friends and family

Write up a mid-year “State of My Year” post. In the first six months of 2013 I divided most of my time between doing some consultancy work and being a Committee Member of the Residents Committee of the life-style village where I live. I assisted three community organisations to apply for grant funding and I was also contracted by three private businesses to undertake work on their behalf. During this time I decided to give […]

I found this ticket among my photos and had a chuckle at the memory of that night. My work colleague and I attended the function as we shared office space with the Small Business people plus we thought we should show our support. It was a formal affair so Chris and I had to find something suitable for the occasion. We both found lovely formal gowns at the right price. Their earlier life was in […]

Bad hair day!

Yesterday I had my hair done (coloured), as I do on a fairly regular basis. Nothing unusual in that? Well, it nearly became exciting. My hairdresser is located in a small shopping complex not far from my home.  I was a little early and placed in front of the mirror straight away and the magic chemicals (hair dye) applied to the roots of my hair to hide any grey ones creeping in unnoticed. With that done, they put a timer on for when it needed to be […]

It took me a long time to think of a name that encompassed all the different aspects of my interest in writing – All About Words WA (ie Western Australia) fitted the bill and I registered it as a Business Name. When it came time to choosing a name for my blog it was the logical choice. Today I changed the theme of my blog from Coraline to ChaoticSoul. It is great to get access to these opportunities through WordPress. I do like change. […]

I believe that... / I feel... / Motivation / Small business / Wisdom / Wisdom too late / Writing

Some days there are just so many things to think about and to do. Where do I start? I haven’t written a proper blog for several days – how frustrating. I just don’t seem to be in the flow at the moment. What to do? Fortunately I remembered how important it is to sit down and write all the things that are on my mind. Once I wrote down my list I felt a bit […]

Political / Small business / Wisdom too late

At work today I was pondering the reality that, on the hand, there are so many services provided by government and community organisations, and, on the other hand, there are so many people in desperate need of these services! How is it then that so often people in need do not have access to what can help them? I have heard it said recently that our region is very poorly catered for in mental health services. There are […]

Small business / Writing

There are lots of questions I have about progressing my business consultancy. I thought that just maybe, other bloggers out there can give me some direction and ideas. I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Firstly, I want to point out that my primary interest in having this blog is to improve my writing, keep learning and to keep my skills up to date. I also wish to use those skills to generate more business and I […]
